The Cogs/Miller Financial top the Bulldogs behind Webster‘s three hits, 34-5

An excellent effort by Mike Webster hoisted The Cogs to a 34-5 win in five innings over the Bulldogs on Tuesday at one.

Webster racked up six RBIs on three hits for The Cogs. He singled in the second inning and homered in the first and fourth innings.

The biggest inning for The Cogs was the second. In the inning The Cogs scored 21 runs.

The Cogs hit four home runs in the win. Home runs for The Cogs came when Rich Weiss homered in the fourth inning, James Moretti homered in the fourth inning, and Webster homered in the first and fourth innings.

Dave Moxley got the win for The Cogs despite allowing five runs over five innings. Moxley struck out one, walked none and gave up eight hits.

The Cogs pounded the Bulldogs pitching, as nine hitters combined for 24 hits, 25 RBIs and 31 runs scored.

The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the top of the first. PlayerC kicked things off for the Bulldogs with a double. PlayerD singled, scoring PlayerB. The scoreboard lit up again for the Bulldogs when PlayerC scored on an error, PlayerD and PlayerE scored on a two-run single by PlayerG, and PlayerG scored on an RBI single by PlayerI.

The Cogs never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring six runs on a two-run double by Tom Davis, a two-run home run by Webster, an RBI single by Devon Pruitt, and a wild pitch.
